Flying to Berlin
In fact, for your city trip to Berlin there is no more practical way of travelling than by plane. Flying to Berlin is fast, comfortable and moreover – with the right offer – dirt cheap! There are currently two airports:
Schönefeld: With the S9 you can go to station Ostkreuz and from there take the S7 to Alexanderplatz, the citycenter or all the way to Charlottenburg.
Tegel: There is a coachservice X9 109 that brings travelers every 10 min to Jungfernheide station from there you can take the Ringbahn(overground ringroadtrack) to Westkreuz and take the S7 to Charlottenburg, the citycenter, Alexanderplatz. There are also coaches that take you directly to Bahnhof Zoo in Charlottenburg ( usually indicated) where you can get the S7 to the center.
By train to Berlin
One of the finest and cheapest ways to travel to Berlin is of course by train. Advantageous of course if you want to take your bike on the trip! You can book at your homestation but it’s always better to book through Deutsche Bahn Often you get discounts here!
Upon arrival at the Hauptbahnhof, you can take the S7 to Charlottenburg, the city center or the Alexanderplatz !
By bus to Berlin – Flixbus and more
Since a few years it’s completely hip again to travel by bus! Since the arrival of the German company Flixbus/Meinfernbus, you can supercheap by bus to Berlin. Although you are a little bit longer on the road, you sit comfortable, there is wifi on board of the buses and you get off in the middle of Berlin. Bookings via Flixbus. With these buses you can also travel very cheaply around Germany!
Most buses arrive in ZOB (the Central Omnibus station) in the Westend district. You just cross the street and walk to the Ringbahn station Messe Nord. There you travel 1 stop southward to Westkreuz from there you can easily take the S7 to Charlottenburg, the city center or Alexanderplatz!
By car to Berlin
Not in the mood for booking a bus, train or flight to Berlin? Then you just grab the car to Berlin! In about 5 hours you drive from the German border to the most beautiful city in Germany, along amazing scenery. And since you are driving from former West Germany over the old Transitoroad to former East Germany, it also has a historical touch. Without traffic jams you will take about 5 hours.
